Nigeria is grappling with a deadly outbreak of Lassa fever as the disease continues to spread across the country. According to the latest reports from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), a total of 146 deaths have been recorded as a result of the viral hemorrhagic fever, with 38 health workers among those infected.
The NCDC has confirmed that 21 states and 82 local government areas have reported at least one case of Lassa fever this year.
