Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) commenced their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 campaign with an impressive six-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the tournament opener. Played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB showcased their batting prowess, comfortably chasing down a formidable target of 202 runs.
The highlight of the match was an outstanding performance , who anchored the chase with an unbeaten 69 runs off 44 deliveries. His innings was marked by a blend of classic strokes and aggressive hitting, which set the tone for the chase. Kohli received significant support from young opener Devdutt Padikkal, who chipped in with a quickfire 61 runs off just 32 balls, including five boundaries and four sixes.
