A tragic incident occurred near Bokaro station, claiming the life of 15-year-old Kaushik Sharma while he attempted to rescue a friend who had been injured. The boys were filming a social media reel at a railway hump yard when the mishap took place, leading to severe consequences.
According to local sources, the incident began when one of the boys accidentally touched an overhead electric line while perched on a stationary wagon. The sudden shock caused him to fall, resulting in considerable injuries. In a desperate attempt to save his friend, Kaushik attempted to help, but he too came into contact with the deadly electric line and was electrocuted.
Witnesses reported that the scene was chaotic as the boys’ friends and onlookers rushed to assist. Emergency responders were called to the site, but despite their efforts, Kaushik was pronounced dead upon arrival at a near. The surviving friend, fortunately, managed to escape with non-life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
Friends and family of Kaushik expressed their devastation at the loss, describing him as a vibrant and outgoing young man who was always ready to help others. The incident has raised awareness about the dangers of filming videos in such risky environments and the unaware consequences it may entail.
Authorities are now investigating the specifics of the accident and have stressed the importance of safety, particularly around railway facilities. They urge parents to have conversations with their children about the potential hazards of hazardous stunts and the use of technology in unsafe places.
As the community comes to terms with this tragic event, vigils are being held to honor Kaushik’s memory, highlighting the urgent need for greater safety awareness among youth regarding high-risk activities.
