To highlight the alarming statistics surrounding prostate cancer, a new initiative has emerged in the form of the Limited Edition 1IN4 wristwatch, created through a collaboration between Rotary and Prostate Cancer UK. This initiative specifically aims to raise awareness of the disproportionate risk of prostate cancer among black men, with the sobering statistic revealing that 1 in 4 black men will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime. Furthermore, in the UK alone, over 11,500 men succumb to prostate cancer each year, equating to one man every 45 minutes.
The stylish Rotary 1IN4 watch, designed in partnership with property expert and television presenter Kunle Barker, serves as both a fashion statement and a means to spark critical conversations about prostate health. Only 1,000 of these exclusive timepieces will be produced, making them a limited but meaningful contribution to raising awareness and fighting the disease.
In a commitment to support the cause, Rotary will donate 10% plus VAT from the sale of each 1IN4 watch directly to Prostate Cancer UK. These funds will go towards empowering more black men with knowledge about their prostate cancer risk and informing them about preventive measures and health practices.
The Limited Edition 1IN4 timepieces can be purchased exclusively at rotarywatches.com and through the national retailer Hinds Jewellers. Each purchase not only adds a unique accessory to one’s collection but also significantly contributes to a vital public health initiative.
It is important to note that the featured watch has been gifted , and all donations will be made on behalf of recipients of the gifted timepieces, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to the cause.
With this initiative, Rotary aims not just to sell watches but to enhance awareness and promote discussions around prostate cancer, ultimately striving to reduce the number of affected individuals through education and proactive health measures.
