Sokoto Governor Ahmed Aliyu has reaffirmed his commitment to intensifying efforts against banditry in the region following a recent meeting with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun. The meeting, which addressed the pressing security challenges in Sokoto State, underscored the need for enhanced collaboration between state authorities and law enforcement agencies.
Governor Aliyu emphasized the importance of a united front against criminal elements destabilizing the region. He stated that the state government would not relent in its pursuit of peace and security, promising a sustained offensive against bandits who threaten the safety of citizens. “We will continue to put pressure on these bandits and ensure that security forces are well-coordinated in their operations,” he declared.
