The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially rejected the recent decision National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw its recognition of the party. In a statement released on Tuesday, party officials accused INEC of attempting to destabilize the ADC amid ongoing internal disputes.
In its response, the ADC asserted that the withdrawal from recognition was not only unwarranted but also part of a calculated plan to undermine the party’s stability. According to ADC leaders, the decision comes at a time when the party is preparing for upcoming elections and is facing challenges from within.
One of the central points raised involves Nafiu Bala, who is presently challenging the leadership of David Mark in court. The party claims that Bala resigned from its ranks on May 18, 2025, and suggested that his actions should not be construed as a legitimate basis for questioning the ADC’s leadership.
The tensions within the party and the conflict with INEC have sparked concerns among its members and supporters about the future of the ADC. Party officials emphasized their commitment to upholding the integrity of the ADC, asserting that they will explore all available legal options to contest INEC’s withdrawal.
