Tiger Woods was involved in a car crash last week in Florida, and body camera footage released on Thursday revealed a curious remark he made to a police deputy during the incident. According to the footage, after crashing his SUV, Woods took out his phone and stated, “I was just talking to the president.” Although the phone conversation was not recorded, officers captured Woods expressing gratitude as he hung up, saying, “Thank you so much,” just moments before the deputy approached him.

It remains unclear whether Woods was referring to former President Donald Trump, with whom he has a personal connection, particularly given that Trump’s former daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, is currently dating the golfer. Following Woods’ arrest on March 27, Trump voiced his concern for his friend when asked , stating, “I feel so badly. He’s got some difficulty. Very close friend of mine. He’s an amazing person. Amazing man. But, some difficulty.”

The White House has yet to respond to inquiries about whether Trump had a conversation with Woods following the crash. The footage from the incident reveals Woods appearing astonished as he was handcuffed after failing a sobriety test. Additionally, video taken from the back of the patrol car showed the golfer struggling to stay awake, hiccupping, yawning, and repeatedly nodding off during the interaction with law enforcement officers.

This recent incident adds to Woods’ ongoing challenges, as fans and former associates express concern for his well-being and recovery. The events surrounding the crash and Woods’ subsequent behavior are under scrutiny, leading to questions about his state during the incident and the impact of his personal life on his professional legacy.
