Día 14 – Viaje a Japón 2026

Published on April 4, 2026

Today, I started off my day more leisurely, waking up later than usual and catching a train at 8:00 AM (yes, that is considered “late” here 😅). The heat has been intense. I opted for a short-sleeved shirt and shorts (my first day wearing them), and I made sure to apply sunscreen, wear sunglasses, and put on a cap. Despite the heat, most Japanese people around me are dressed in long pants and long sleeves. I don’t quite understand.

As I stepped off the train, the bustling energy of Tokyo greeted me. The streets were alive with the sounds of chatter, laughter, and the occasional honk from the busy traffic. I decided to visit a few local attractions, including the famous Meiji Shrine. The serene atmosphere within the shrine grounds offered a stark contrast to the city’s hustle and bustle.

Walking through the lush greenery, I took a moment to appreciate the intricate architecture of the shrine. It was fascinating to see people from all walks of life coming to pay their respects. Some were dressed in traditional kimonos, adding a vibrant touch to the surroundings, while others, like me, were in casual summer attire.

After exploring the shrine, I ventured into the near, known for its unique fashion scene and youthful culture. The streets were filled with shops showcasing everything from quirky accessories to high-end fashion. I couldn’t help but be captivated styles and the creativity on display.

As the sun reached its peak, I decided it was time for a break. I found a small café and ordered a refreshing iced matcha drink. Sitting outside, I watched the world go in the atmosphere. The juxtaposition of modernity and tradition never ceases to amaze me in this country.

Later in the afternoon, I headed to Akihabara, the hub for electronics and otaku culture. The neon lights and vibrant billboards created an otherworldly ambiance. I spent time browsing through countless manga and anime shops, immersing myself in a culture that I have always admired from afar.

As daylight began to fade, I made my way to a local izakaya for dinner. The experience was delightful; I enjoyed trying various small dishes and indulged in some sake while conversing with the friendly locals. They were eager to share their recommendations for future excursions, which I greatly appreciated.

of the day, I felt a satisfying exhaustion wash over me. It was a day filled with exploration, new experiences, and the warmth of Japanese hospitality. I returned to my accommodation, eager for what tomorrow would bring in this incredible journey through Japan.
