‘Torrente Presidente’ has made history 22 million dollars at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing film in the ‘Torrente’ franchise created . It took just 21 days for the film to achieve this milestone, reaching 22.18 million dollars, effectively dethroning ‘Torrente 2: Mission in Marbella,’ which amassed 22.14 million in 2021.

While ‘Torrente Presidente’ has recently lost its top spot in Spanish cinemas to ‘Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie,’ it continues to generate substantial revenue. Analysts predict that its final earnings could easily reach 30 million euros. This underscores the immense success Santiago Segura has once again achieved in Spanish cinema.

In addition to its box office success, ‘Torrente Presidente’ has secured its place among the top 10 highest-grossing films in Spanish cinema history, currently holding the eighth position. It is expected to surpass ‘The Great Adventure of Mortadelo and Filemón’ shortly, which will move it into seventh place. The current top 10 is as follows:

1. ‘Ocho apellidos vascos’ – 56.19 million euros
2. ‘Lo imposible’ – 42.44 million euros
3. ‘Ocho apellidos catalanes’ – 36.14 million euros
4. ‘Los otros’ – 27.25 million euros
5. ‘A Monster Calls’ – 26.5 million euros
6. ‘The Orphanage’ – 25.06 million euros
7. ‘The Great Adventure of Mortadelo and Filemón’ – 22.84 million euros
8. ‘Torrente Presidente’ – 22.18 million euros
9. ‘Torrente 2: Mission in Marbella’ – 22.14 million euros
10. ‘Agora’ – 21.39 million euros

Furthermore, ‘Torrente Presidente’ has also entered the top 20 of Spanish cinema in terms of ticket sales, surpassing 3 million tickets sold. However, it still has a long way to go to reach the 5,321,969 tickets that ‘Torrente 2: Mission in Marbella’ sold.
