In a proactive measure to combat the rising incidence of crop fires during the harvest season, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has established a control room and dedicated helpline aimed at preventing fires caused . This initiative comes in response to concerns about the detrimental impact of such fires on both the environment and agricultural productivity in the region.
The newly set up control room will operate around the clock, allowing farmers to report any electrical issues or infrastructural failures that could potentially lead to fires. PSPCL officials emphasized the importance of timely reporting, stating that early identification of problems can significantly reduce the risk of crop fires.
