Bharat Arun, the bowling coach of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), addressed the media ahead of their crucial match against the Delhi Capitals, expressing confidence despite the absence of Digvesh Rathi. Rathi, who was LSG’s leading wicket-taker last season with 14 wickets, has been ruled out of the game due to an injury, raising concerns among fans regarding the team’s bowling strength.
In response to the questions surrounding Rathi’s absence, Arun downplayed the worries and highlighted the team’s depth in the bowling department. “While Digvesh had an impressive season last year, we have a well-rounded squad capable of stepping up in his absence. The ‘Arun effect’ on our bowlers is evident, and I believe they will rise to the occasion,” Arun stated.
Arun also emphasized the importance of teamwork and adaptability in the face of injuries, stating that the bowling group has been training rigorously to develop multiple strategies. “Our focus has been on fostering versatility among the bowlers. We want them to be prepared for any situation, whether it’s executing tight line and length or adjusting to different pitch conditions,” he explained.
The former Indian fast-bowling coach reiterated his faith in LSG’s bowling unit, which includes several seasoned performers. “We have a mix of experience and youth, and players like our overseas signings bring a wealth of experience to the table. This is an opportunity for others to showcase their skills and contribute to the team’s success.”
As LSG gears up to take on the Delhi Capitals, the coaching staff remains optimistic about their chances, aiming to maintain their competitive edge even in the face of injury setbacks. Arun’s confidence seems to resonate through the locker room, setting a positive tone as the team prepares for the challenge ahead.
