Five people have died in a devastating fire that erupted at a gas lighter factory located near Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, prompting an immediate response from local firefighters and law enforcement agencies.
According to local authorities, the blaze broke out around 3 a.m. at the factory situated in the Tongi area, a bustling industrial zone just outside the city. Witnesses reported hearing loud explosions as the fire spread rapidly through the facility, which was filled with highly flammable materials.
Rescue workers rushed to the scene and battled the flames for several hours. Despite their efforts, five workers were confirmed dead, and several others suffered injuries. Local hospitals are treating approximately ten people for burn injuries and smoke inhalation, with some in critical condition.
