Bell & Ross BR V2-92: A Practical and Versatile Watch

Published on April 8, 2026

I always enjoy trying a watch brand I haven’t worn before. I’ve known and admired Bell & Ross’s timepieces from afar, so I was pleased to borrow one of their Vintage Collection to try for a few days.

Bell & Ross was founded in 1992 to create robust watches for professionals, including pilots, divers, and military personnel. The brand is particularly known for its square watches inspired instrumentation. Over the years, they have supplied timepieces to the French Air Force and motor racing teams, along with creating styles suitable for the everyday consumer. All their watches are crafted in Switzerland.

During my trial, I had the opportunity to wear the Bell & Ross BR V2-92 Aéronavale, a 41mm automatic mechanical watch that features a stunning deep blue sunray dial and a bi-directional rotating bezel. With a water resistance of up to 100 meters, a screw-down crown, and a transparent case back that showcases the movement, this watch offers both functionality and elegance. The design embodies a vintage pilot’s watch vibe, boasting a substantial presence on the wrist, particularly when paired with its matching deep blue calfskin strap, although it also comes with an option for a steel bracelet.

The watch’s clean aesthetics impart a contemporary feel, and while its Sellita-based movement may not boast chronograph testing, it kept exceptionally accurate time during the few days I wore it. Priced at £2700 for the leather strap option, this watch offers excellent value and is versatile enough to complement various styles, from casual jeans and knitwear to more formal attire like a suit and tie. It strikes a perfect balance between practicality and visual appeal.
