A wanted criminal was injured during a police encounter in the early hours of Tuesday in the outskirts of the city. The suspect, identified as Ravi Kumar, has been on the run for several months, linked to a string of robberies and violent crimes across the region.
According to police reports, the encounter occurred around 3 a.m. when a special operations team was tipped off about Kumar’s whereabouts. Following an intelligence-led operation, officers approached the location with the intent to apprehend him. The suspect allegedly opened fire at the police, prompting a retaliatory response.

Our officers acted bravely and appropriately in a high-stress situation.” He also emphasized that the police would continue to work diligently to ensure the safety of the public.
Kumar is wanted in connection with numerous cases, including armed robbery and assault. He has a long criminal history, making this arrest a significant achievement for the local law enforcement agencies. Investigators have indicated that they will also be looking into any potential associates of Kumar to dismantle any existing networks.
