GoPro has established itself as a leader in the action camera market with its popular Hero series. Known for their reliability and quality, these cameras have catered to both amateur enthusiasts and seasoned filmmakers.
Now, the company is shaking things up with the introduction of its new Mission 1 camera series, featuring three models with advanced capabilities. The entry-level Mission 1 starts at $600 and boasts a new 50-megapixel 1-inch sensor, delivering improved image quality and low-light performance compared to its Hero 13 predecessor.
The Mission 1 Pro, priced at $700, offers higher frame rates and specialized recording modes designed for professional use. It can capture 8K video at 60 fps, along with extreme slow-motion features unmatched . Meanwhile, the Mission 1 Pro ILS, which supports interchangeable lenses, is set for a Q3 2026 release at the same price point as the Pro model, with discounts for subscribers.
Accessories for the Mission 1 series will roll out starting May 28, enhancing the functionality of the cameras. While an official release date for the cameras has yet to be announced, preordering incentives include a complimentary point-and-shoot grip for early adopters, further emphasizing GoPro’s commitment to innovation in the action camera space.
