Google Expands Gemini Chatbot Access Across East Asia and the Pacific

Google’s Gemini chatbot, initially launched in the US, is now available to users in several East Asian and Pacific countries. The rollout includes Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and five additional nations. This marks a significant expansion following its earlier release in Canada, India, and New Zealand.

Starting today, users can access Gemini in Chrome through both desktop and mobile platforms, except for iOS in Japan. A simple tap on the “Ask Gemini” icon activates a new sidebar for seamless interaction across multiple tabs. The suite also integrates Google’s image generator, enhancing the chat experience with visual content creation options.

The introduction of this tool allows users to engage with Gemini while working on other tasks, improving productivity and convenience. Notably, the integration with Google Calendar streamlines event creation directly within the chat interface. Users have the option to customize their experience, including the ability to unpin the chatbot if desired.

This expansion underlines Google’s commitment to enhancing user experience through AI tools. As more regions gain access to Gemini, it could further reshape how users navigate and interact with content online.
