Framework has become synonymous with customization in laptops, especially with their Laptop 16. With a modular design, it allows users the freedom to select components that fit their personal needs. Recent upgrades aim to enhance user experience while maintaining the brand’s commitment to modularity.
However, user feedback revealed challenges within this customizable framework. CEO Nirav Patel acknowledged concerns about arm hair getting caught in the module slots. In response, Framework is introducing a new trackpad and keyboard cover combination, along with more affordable configurations for users looking for entry-level options.
In a notable addition, Framework is venturing into the eGPU space with the OCuLink Dev Kit. This prototype will enable users to connect high-performance GPUs directly to the Laptop 16. While it promises enhanced graphics capabilities, the kit remains in development, with more details expected later this year.
The launch comes alongside other significant upgrades, including a 10Gb Ethernet expansion card created in partnership with Wisdpi. Though targeted at a niche market, it reflects Frameworkâs responsiveness to community demands. These innovations position Framework as a brand committed to addressing user needs in an ever-evolving tech landscape.
