Anker has long been known for its innovative audio products, focusing primarily on enhancing user experience through advanced technology. The company’s latest development, the Thus chip, aims to bring local AI capabilities to small, wearable devices, starting with an upcoming headphone model. Set to unveil this new technology at the Anker Day event on May 21, the company is poised to make a significant impact in the space of audio peripherals.
With the Thus chip, Anker introduces its first Compute-in-Memory AI audio processor. This chip is designed to mimic the brain’s storage and processing capabilities directly into NOR flash memory cells. This architecture allows for improved processing speed and efficiency, crucial for small form-factor devices like headphones where space is limited.
Thus is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of AI in audio applications. Anker highlights that headphones present unique challenges, such as real-time noise cancellation using minimal power. new chip, Anker aims to not only showcase the capability of Thus but also plans to expand its use into other mobile accessories and IoT devices in the future.
One notable feature of the upcoming headphones is Clear Calls, which employs a neural network operating entirely on the device. With the aid of eight MEMS microphones and two bone conduction sensors, this feature promises clearer voice quality even in noisy environments. If successful, it will set a new standard for AI-driven audio solutions, enabling Anker to solidify its position as a leader in the tech accessories market.
