With the rollout of iOS 26.5, Apple introduces end-to-end encryption for Rich Communication Services (RCS) chats. This new feature brings encrypted messaging to iMessage conversations with Android users via Google Messages. Beta testing has commenced, providing early adopters with a glimpse of the enhanced security.
The update allows messages to be encrypted, even when sent between iPhones and Android devices. The “look for the lock” badge will indicate when a conversation is secure. Users can now enjoy peace of mind, knowing their conversations are shielded from prying eyes.
