A fantastic trailer has been released for the DreamWorks animated movie *Forgotten Island*, featuring a talented voice cast that includes H.E.R. and Liza Soberano, who star as best friends Jo and Raissa. The two have been inseparable since grade school but are on the brink of going their separate ways for college.
As they prepare to bid farewell to each other, the girls stumble upon a mysterious portal that transports them to the mystical island of Nakali. This magical realm is filled with fantastical creatures straight from the stories they grew up hearing from their Filipino families. The voice cast is further bolstered such as Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, and Ronny Chieng.
The film is co-written and co-directed Crawford and Januel Mercado, who previously collaborated on the hit *Puss in Boots: The Last Wish*.
The official synopsis of *Forgotten Island* reveals the essence of the adventure: “While celebrating their last night together, Jo and Raissa stumble upon a mysterious portal that transports them to the fantastical island of Nakali, packed with magical and mythological creatures they grew up hearing stories about from their Filipino families.”
“Some of these figures will become friends, some foes. Joined -meaning-but-hapless weredog Raww (voiced ) and a small-but-mighty pack of pals, Jo and Raissa must face The Dreaded Manananggal, portrayed -winning icon Lea Salonga, the most feared creature on the island.”
“As they learn that the memories of their entire friendship are the price for returning home, Jo and Raissa race against time to find a way to leave the island before they forget each other forever.”
