British Business Minister Grant Shapps stated on Monday that there is “no excuse” for the violence inflicted upon journalists protests in China. His comments come in response to disturbing reports of media personnel being beaten while attempting to cover demonstrations.
Shapps emphasized the importance of press freedom and the role of journalists in ensuring transparency during civil unrest. “Journalists play a vital role in informing the public about events happening in their country. Any form of brutality against them is unacceptable,” he said during an interview with the BBC.
