In a spirited celebration marking the completion of eight years in office, Meghalaya’s Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma emphasized the government’s commitment to resilience and inclusive growth. The National People’s Party (NPP)-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) has achieved significant milestones during its tenure, focusing on the welfare of various communities within the state.
Speaking at a recent event, CM Sangma highlighted that the government allocated an impressive ₹129.81 crore towards welfare initiatives aimed at supporting farmers, conservators, and entrepreneurs. This funding, according to Sangma, is crucial for fostering an environment where all sectors of society can thrive and flourish.
The Chief Minister stressed the role of these initiatives in uplifting marginalized communities and ensuring that the benefits of development reach every corner of the state. He pointed out that the MDA’s approach is not just about economic growth but also about promoting social equity and sustainability.
As he reflected on the journey of the past eight years, Sangma acknowledged the challenges faced , including economic hurdles and natural calamities. However, he reiterated that the resilience of the people of Meghalaya has always been a source of strength in overcoming adversity.
