El final de la temporada 3 de ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’, explicado. La batalla definitiva de Yuta y el futuro del Viaje de Aniquilación en el anime

After twelve episodes, it’s time to say goodbye to ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’. The third season of the anime marked a departure from the world of sorcery as we knew it, leaving behind the doors of the school and plunging us into a life-or-death tournament where Yuji Itadori and friends have everything at stake.

This Annihilation Journey is the master plan of Kenjaku, but the former students of Satoru Gojo are doing everything possible to thwart it. This season of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ has been packed with action, and what remains is still intriguing.

The Path So Far

The Shibuya Incident marked a pivotal moment for the sorcery world, with Itadori starting the season grappling with the massacre perpetrated he took control of his body. After the ruse involving Yuta Okkotsu pretending to be executed, the two students of Gojo decide to join forces to rescue their master and stop Kenjaku’s plans.

The Annihilation Journey is designed to force the evolution of humanity, gathering sorcerers from the present, including newly awakened ones, and reincarnated sorcerers from the past. The idea is to collect as much cursed energy as possible and forcibly merge humanity with Tengen until no ordinary humans remain… a true supervillain plot.

This “tournament” has very specific rules that compel participants to enter and kill other sorcerers, so Yuji Itadori, Yuta Okkotsu, and Megumi Fushiguro are on the lookout for new allies while trying to liberate Satoru Gojo.

In the process, they successfully ally with Hakari and Kirara, two former students, and Higuruma and Takaba, two sorcerers who have just awakened their powers. This season has primarily focused on introducing all these new players and observing how plans align for the future, leaving all the pieces in place with its conclusion.

Not Over Yet…

Itadori and Fushiguro have officially entered the Tokyo Colony and are attempting to navigate the game without killing anyone, trading points to allow others to escape. However, the grand finale arrives in the Sendai Colony, where Yuta Okkotsu infiltrates.

The last episode centers on his battle against Kurourushi, Ryu Ishigori, and Takako Uro, who has a grudge against Okkotsu’s ancestors. After an intense fight, Okkotsu manages to defeat his opponents and steal a total of 190 points, enough to introduce a new norm in the game.

The conclusion of the third season leaves us with an open ending, as Okkotsu exits the battlefield, and the threat of reaching his limit looms. Meanwhile, Megumi is left in the care of Angel, and the time for his sister Tsumiki to enter the Annihilation Journey is running out.

Tengen remains under the care of Choso and Tsukumu, while Sukuna seems calm but is plotting something. On his part, Itadori has found a fantastic ally in Takaba, who will play along splendidly and is a sorcerer of Gojo’s caliber, though he isn’t aware of the magnitude of his powers.

What’s Next?

This first part of the third season has covered up to Chapter 181 of Gege Akutami’s manga. Unfortunately, the season hasn’t really reached its end, leaving us with an intriguing cliffhanger. The Annihilation Journey arc is the longest in ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’, but we can expect to see its conclusion in the second half of the season.

Here, we will find out how these seeds that have been planted will make sense, and all the pieces of the puzzle will fall into place for the final arc. Sadly, we should also anticipate that the great villains of the story will be set into motion.

Currently, there is no release date for the second part of the third season of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’. Rumors suggest a possible premiere in January 2027, so we’ll have to wait patiently.
