For many users, navigating multiple tabs in a web browser has become second nature. Google Chrome, a leader in browser technology, has long provided robust support for tabbed browsing. Recent updates aimed at enhancing user experience have kept it at the forefront of digital tools.
Today, however, Google is shaking things up a new feature for AI Mode that allows the integrated chatbot to interact more effectively with tabs. The update introduces a side-by-side interface, enabling users to browse new webpages while simultaneously querying the chatbot about them, all without losing context.
This functionality means that if you’re researching a product, like a coffee maker, the chatbot can help answer specific questions about the products without needing you to repeat details. You can open a manufacturer’s site and ask about maintenance or features, making the research process both efficient and intuitive.
The consequences of this update are significant. Users report less time spent switching between tabs, leading to improved focus on their tasks. Mike Torres, Chrome’s vice-president of product, emphasized that these features reflect Google’s commitment to integrating practical AI capabilities into its browser, with plans for a global rollout soon to follow.
