Grid Output Tied to DisCos’ Demand, GenCos’ Supply, Says TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has clarified that the daily electricity output on the national grid is closely linked to the demand from electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos), the generation declarations from Generation Companies (GenCos), and the wheeling capacity of TCN itself. This clarification was made ’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, in a recent statement.

Mbah emphasized that the interaction between these three components is crucial for maintaining a stable power supply across the nation. The DisCos determine the amount of electricity they require each day, which in turn influences the generation output mandated .
