Residents of Gurugram are facing significant challenges in their daily commutes due to the deteriorating condition of the road connecting Sector 109 and Sector 112. Locals have raised concerns about the narrow and dusty stretch, which has become increasingly difficult to navigate, compounded ongoing construction projects aimed at improving the area.
The ₹6.11 crore project, originally designed to upgrade the road and its surrounding infrastructure, has suffered multiple setbacks due to bureaucratic approvals, the implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), and unpredictable weather conditions. As a result, the completion timeline has extended, leading to frustration among commuters who rely on this route for their daily travels.
Footpaths, which are an integral part of the project to enhance pedestrian safety, are now expected to be completed 15. However, many residents are skeptical about this timeline, as previous delays have caused them to lose faith in the project’s progress.
“The road used to be manageable, but now it’s a nightmare,” said one concerned resident. “The dust and narrow pathways make it not only inconvenient but also unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists.”
With the monsoon season approaching, residents are anxious about further complications. They fear that additional rains will exacerbate the road’s poor condition, leading to more delays and potential hazards.
In response to the growing outcry from the community, local authorities have promised regular updates on the progress of the project and assured residents that steps are being taken to expedite the pending approvals. However, for many, immediate solutions are desired to alleviate the daily difficulties they face while commuting on this damaged road.
As the deadline for the footpath completion looms, locals are hopeful for a swift resolution, yet remain wary of the continued delays that have plagued this essential infrastructure project.
