In a significant turn of events, police have arrested a man identified as Vipul Goyal for allegedly duping a resident of Panipat a police officer. The incident has raised concerns about the prevalence of such scams, particularly in regions where citizens may not be fully aware of how to identify authoritative figures.
The accused, who operated under the guise of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), reportedly deceived his victim into parting with a substantial amount of money. Authorities uncovered crucial evidence during the investigation, including the arrest of Vipul Goyal’s brother, Tarun Goyal, who is believed to have played a supportive role in the scheme.
Further investigations led the police to recover a portion of the defrauded money along with a fake DSP uniform that was reportedly used to lend authenticity to his fraudulent activities. The uniform has become a key piece of evidence in the case, highlighting the lengths to which the accused went to dupe the victim.
The police have urged the public to exercise caution and verify the identities of individuals claiming to be law enforcement officers. They emphasized the importance of reporting any suspicious behavior as part of a broader community safety initiative. As investigations continue, authorities are working to gather more information to prevent similar incidents and protect citizens from such deceitful schemes.
Both Vipul and Tarun Goyal are expected to face multiple charges, including fraud and impersonation of a public servant. The case has garnered attention as law enforcement agencies ramp up efforts to tackle crime and promote awareness about fraudulent tactics among citizens.
