The Centre has approved a substantial funding of ₹81.12 crore to enhance electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in Rajasthan, paving the way for the establishment of 591 new charging stations across various cities and highways in the state. This initiative is part of the Prime Minister’s e-Drive scheme, which aims to promote green mobility and improve the accessibility of electric vehicles for commuters and travelers.
Jaipur, the capital city, is set to benefit the most from this initiative, with a significant number of charging stations allocated to support the growing demand for electric vehicles in urban areas. The planned installations are crucial for alleviating concerns related to charging infrastructure, making it easier for residents and visitors to adopt EVs without the worry of range anxiety.
In addition to the installations in major cities, charging stations will also be strategically placed along highways to facilitate intercity travel.
