Residents flag illegal constructions, poor enforcement in Greater Noida’s Golf Links-1

Published on April 3, 2026

Residents of Golf Links-1 in Greater Noida have raised alarm over what they describe as illegal constructions proliferating in their upscale neighborhood. The community claims that despite numerous complaints, enforcement actions have been insufficient, allowing unauthorized structures to disrupt the character of the area.

Local residents have reported seeing new buildings emerging without the necessary approvals, with some encroaching on designated green spaces. They express frustration at the perceived lack of responsiveness from the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), which they believe should take more stringent measures to uphold building regulations.

In response to the mounting concerns, officials at the GNIDA stated that they are aware of the situation and confirmed that enforcement actions are currently underway. Notices have been issued to the owners of several non-compliant properties, and inspections are being conducted to assess the extent of the violations.

“We are committed to maintaining the planned and aesthetic integrity of Golf Links-1,” a GNIDA spokesperson said. “Our teams are actively working to identify illegal constructions and issue appropriate notices to ensure compliance with building regulations.”

Residents, however, demand stricter and faster action, arguing that the current measures are insufficient to deter further illegal activities. Many have voiced their concerns through community meetings, urging GNIDA to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards violations.

The issue of illegal constructions is not unique to Golf Links-1; it reflects broader challenges faced areas in Greater Noida. As the city expands, the pressure for housing and commercial space often leads to conflicts over land use and adherence to zoning laws.

As enforcement efforts continue, residents hope that their voices will be heard and that decisive action will be taken to protect their community from further encroachments. Meanwhile, the GNIDA reassures residents that measures are in place and that they remain vigilant in monitoring and addressing illegal activities throughout the region.
