The festival brings together various aspects of Sundanese culture, including music, dance, traditional cuisine, and handicrafts.
This year’s festival features performances from renowned Sundanese artists, captivating audiences with their traditional gamelan music and expressive dance performances. Local culinary stalls have been set up to offer visitors authentic Sundanese dishes, reflecting the rich gastronomic traditions of the region.
In addition to cultural displays, the Sawindu Galuh Pakuan Festival includes workshops and seminars that educate participants about traditional crafts such as batik making and bamboo weaving. Junaedi highlighted that these activities not only preserve traditional skills but also provide a platform for younger generations to engage with their cultural heritage.
The festival also acts as a catalyst for local economic growth, attracting tourists and boosting small businesses. Local vendors reported increased sales during the event, contributing positively to the area’s tourism sector.
“We hope that through this festival, we can attract more visitors, not just from Indonesia but also from around the world,” Junaedi noted. “Our goal is to ensure that Sundanese culture continues to thrive and is passed down to future generations.”
