President Bola Tinubu emphasized the importance of collective responsibility for the security of Nigeria during a recent gathering that included the Sultan of Sokoto, representatives from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Catholic Bishops, governors, and other notable figures. This meeting was convened to address the pressing security challenges facing the nation.

In his address, Tinubu stated that ensuring the safety and security of citizens cannot be the sole duty of any single individual, including the President. He urged a collaborative approach, calling on all stakeholders—government officials, community leaders, and ordinary citizens—to play a role in fostering peace and stability across the country.

The President’s remarks come at a time when Nigeria is grappling with various security issues, including insurgency in the northeast, banditry in the northwest, and clashes between herders and farmers in different regions. Tinubu underscored the need for unity and collective action in tackling these threats, suggesting that only through partnership can sustainable solutions be developed.

Tinubu also highlighted the importance of intelligence-sharing and community involvement in combating crime and violence. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the capabilities of Nigeria’s security forces while also encouraging local communities to be vigilant and proactive.

The gathering served not only as a platform for discussing security but also as a call to action for all Nigerians to stand together in pursuit of a safer, more secure environment. The President concluded his speech with a message of hope, asserting that with collective effort, Nigeria can overcome its current challenges and build a brighter future for all its citizens.
