During my college days in 2010 at NIFT Delhi, we were required to wear our traditional state garments for a fashion history class. It was during this time that I first donned a veshti as an adult, specifically a Tamil veshti-sattai, and I vividly recall the experience of wearing this attire at a fashion college, in Delhi, of all places. The stark white fabric of the veshti stood out against the bustling backdrop of the capital, catching the attention of both classmates and professors alike.

In contemporary fashion, the introduction of the tailored elastic waistband veshti has revolutionized how this iconic piece is worn.
