In recent years, job interviews have primarily involved human interactions between candidates and recruiters. This traditional process is now facing disruption as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into hiring practices.
A recent survey conducted platform Greenhouse revealed that nearly half of UK job seekers—47%—have experienced an AI interview. The 2,950 respondents, including 1,132 from the UK, showed significant discomfort with this technology, with 30% stating they left a hiring process due to the presence of AI.
The findings highlight a growing trend in the recruitment industry, raising concerns about the effectiveness of AI assessments. Candidates reported feeling awkward and unnatural in their interactions with the technology, questioning its ability to accurately evaluate human qualities.
This shift has notable implications for both job seekers and employers. As dissatisfaction grows, organizations may face challenges in attracting talent if they persist with AI-driven interviews, jeopardizing the overall quality of their hiring processes.
