“Verano Rojo” is a low-budget film shot and set in Mallorca, categorized as a Slasher horror. The production is currently in post-production and seeks support to bring this ambitious project to fruition.

Crafted for fans of this subgenre, the movie aims to pay homage while incorporating a Mediterranean flair. It follows a classic structure, yet adds a unique local flavor. “Verano Rojo” is written, directed, and edited , a graduate of the ESCAC (Barcelona School of Cinema and Audiovisuals).

The film tells the story of four young people who arrive in Mallorca seeking idyllic summer holidays. In search of sunshine, beaches, and fun, they soon find themselves venturing into the island’s most inhospitable areas, leading to a nightmarish journey.

The teaser trailer for “Verano Rojo” was presented at the Nocturna International Fantastic Film Festival in Madrid in 2015, as well as at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival the same year.

The project emerged from the passion of film students eager to shoot a feature film. With a near nonexistent budget, the production began, driven and talents of all who participated. This low-cost film represents an investment of more passion than money, filmed over 40 days while adapting to everyday challenges and resource limitations.

Currently, the team is engaged in a crowdfunding campaign with just seven days remaining. They aim to raise €7,000 to complete the film, inviting everyone to contribute in any way possible, whether film or becoming patrons. Based on contributions, backers will receive various rewards.

Best of luck to the entire “Verano Rojo” team. Hopefully, they achieve their goal and bring this film to theaters soon.
