Once a frontrunner in the early days of internet search, Ask Jeeves captivated users with its unique question-and-answer format. Launched in 1997, it seemed poised to innovate amidst competition from Yahoo and AltaVista. The platform thrived with a friendly mascot, but over the years, it became less relevant in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
The landscape shifted dramatically with the emergence of Google, which revitalized search algorithms and secured the lion’s share of the market.
