Spotify has established itself as a go-to platform for music and podcasts. Users have become accustomed to curating their listening experiences. Now, the app is entering a new arena: fitness.
The company has introduced “guided workout experiences” in partnership with Peloton, offering on-demand classes to Premium subscribers. Both Free and Premium users can access curated playlists designed for physical activities, signaling a shift in how Spotify aims to engage users.
The fitness classes will primarily be available in English, with some offerings in Spanish and German. Users can seamlessly transition between devices, allowing them to start a workout on their TV and switch to audio on their phones, with options to download workouts for offline use.
This pivot comes as Spotify recognizes that nearly 70 percent of its Premium subscribers work out monthly. fitness, Spotify continues its strategy of expanding beyond music, tapping into a growing demand for lifestyle content among its users.
